3 gun information for NEW SHOOTERS!!!
We welcome you to this very exciting sport of 3 Gun here locally in Grants Pass Oregon.  We want new shooters of all skill levels.  We  were all first timers!  When you start with us, please find a 3 gun Range Officer or administrator. Introduce yourself as a new shooter and we will make sure you are aware of the rules and such as well as lot's of encouragement.

Practice is usually the 2nd Saturday of each month.  Gate opens at 8am, set up starts soon after. No cost to practice, but must sign in at range office and non-members pay a day use fee ($7.00  or $10?? anybody know?).

3 gun competition Shoots are 3rd saturday of every month unless otherwise noted on our website.  It is important to sign up at Practiscore before you arrive.  Gate opens at 8am.  Please arrive at 8am to sign in.  Start time is 8:00am for mandatory safety meeting.  If you miss this safety meeting you can not shoot.  After 8:00am safety meeting  we set up the courses.  Setting up and tearing down are required of all shooters.  All shooters should arrive when gates open at 8am saturday morning to start this process.  We are a small club so you are required to set up, help during match, and stay until stages are all put away.  Lots of work, lots of fun, and many hands make for light work.

It is recommended that if you are new to the sport of 3gun, please come to a Saturday practice (see above).  Saturday practices are a good way to learn the rules, see equipment, meet fellow shooters,  and get answers to any questions. Members have been known to lend new shooters equipment as needed.  Please sign in at front office before practice.  Sign in's for competitions are NOT at main office but on the range with the treasurer.

We also recommend you get on the joco3gun email list.  Simply send a request from the joco3gun.com website. An email is sent regularly with 3g competition reminders and such.

The cost of a competition 3g competition shoot is $20 and the location is the Josephine co sportsman association.  See map on this website under "contact us".  Come in the gate and drive past the main building (which will be on your left).  Stay right and you will come to a large parking area with a building on the hill to your right and open ranges on your left.  We meet up the hill on the right.  The range is called LE or Law Enforcement range.

UML- United Multi-Gun League rules are listed on the first page "home" on this website.  Most of those rules are the same as 3 gun.  UML allows PCC competitors also.

Sign up at least the day before here at practiscore:  https://practiscore.com/clubs/joco3gun

Here is info on UML membership and obtaining points in the league :

Here are the details for individual members to join United Multigun League and what can be expected from it-
Annual membership is $40
Can be purchased at:    https://ussleagues.com/shop/
Details at:    https://ussleagues.com/membership/
What it does-
Every match you shoot at a UML member club gains you points, which are used for rankings towards level 2 (sectional and state matches) and level 3 (national and championship matches). Points can be gained by order of finish in your equipment division, by setting up/ tearing down matches (these are FREE points at our club since everyone helps!) RO'ing, match directing or co-match directing (IE designing stages).
This means that you can get a slot to major matches even if you don't place at the top of your division, just by participating and helping the club. This is especially huge for some of the more popular events like Surefire World Multigun Championship, Expedition Multigun, UML world championships, etc that often sell out quickly, as you can get entry into sold-out events by participation in our local club. They also have a classifier system similar to the one used in the past by 3 Gun Nation, but the stages are more like the ones we shot this weekend. You can secure a spot at major shoots by placing well in the classifier system as well. UML is based out of Las Vegas, so they are more involved on the West Coast than 3GN was. Additionally, the membership includes UPL (United Pistol League), URL (United Rifle League), and USL (United Steel League), so you can shoot events for any of these.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!! You do NOT have to join to shoot local matches! This is only for shooters who wish to increase their opportunity to attend major matches, or to submit classifiers to see how they stack up against other shooters nationally with more complex fun courses than the simple 3GN classifier stages. Everyone is welcome to participate at all of our club matches whether they join UML or not.

Good shooting, and see you all at the range!
